Divine Comedy: postscriptum

Though the December lights are slowly fading and the applause is dying down, we are not yet writing the final period. Theatre is a process that acknowledges no rigid calendar boundaries. That is why we are thrilled to announce that the Divine Comedy continues. Ahead lies Divine Comedy: Post Scriptum – a series of events allowing us to extend this extraordinary time well into the spring of 2026.

This is an invitation to further encounters with theatre that probes, dazzles with form, and refuses to be forgotten.

DIVINE COMEDY: POSTSCRIPTUM – CALENDAR

We begin on a high note in January, presenting productions in the coming months that became sensations before they even premiered.

24–25 January 2026 | DARKNESS COVERS THE EARTH (CIEMNOŚCI KRYJĄ ZIEMIĘ)
Directed by: Tomasz Fryzeł | Teatr Wybrzeże in Gdańsk
Cast includes: Mirosław Baka, Piotr Biedroń, Maciej Konopiński

This adaptation of Jerzy Andrzejewski’s renowned novel becomes, in the director's hands, a laboratory of power and ideology. When the Grand Inquisitor Tomas Torquemada crosses the gates of Villa-Réal, the monastery turns into a stage of confrontation that redefines the concepts of faith and fear. This is intimate theatre, focused on the personal, yet terrifyingly universal.

🎟️ The last tickets are still available: [24 January], [25 January].

31 January – 1 February 2026 | EMBERS (ŻAR)
Directed by: Jan Englert | Teatr Polonia in Warsaw
Cast: Maja Komorowska, Jan Englert, Daniel Olbrychski

Tickets for the initially announced performances vanished instantly—the best proof of the audience’s longing for theatre driven by great acting. However, we have good news: we have managed to open sales for a third performance of this title.
On stage: Maja Komorowska, Jan Englert, and Daniel Olbrychski in an adaptation of Sándor Márai’s prose. It is a study of past friendship and passion that do not cool despite the passing years. Can memories save a relationship, or only burn it down to ash? We invite you to a theatrical feast of the highest order.

🎟️ Performance sold out (including the additional show!).

21–22 March 2026 | THE EMPLOYEES
Directed by: Łukasz Twarkowski | STUDIO teatrgaleria in Warsaw
Cast includes: Dominika Biernat, Daniel Dobosz, Maja Pankiewicz; guest appearance (audio): Małgorzata Hajewska-Krzysztofik

A dystopian future world. A spaceship where humans and humanoids work according to absurd, bureaucratic procedures. The Employees takes the audience on an immersive journey through a world where the boundary between human and artificial intelligence blurs, and the fundamental question becomes: what actually creates consciousness?
The play—like Olga Ravn’s novel—is composed of fragments of crew testimonials, resembling reports from an experiment spiraling out of control.

🎟️ (Showtimes are being confirmed – ticket sales launch on Friday, December 19 at 12:00 pm at this address).

24–25 April 2026 | CUCKOO
Concept and performance: Jaha Koo

For the finale of the Post Scriptum cycle, we propose an encounter with documentary theatre of extraordinary sensitivity. South Korean artist Jaha Koo enters into a dialogue with... three rice cookers. It is a bittersweet tale of two decades of Korean history and the pressure for success, where humor intertwines with deep melancholy. The performance is both tender and subversive: humor blends with darkness, and an everyday kitchen object becomes a witness to loneliness in a world subjugated by technology.

🎟️ [24 April], [25 April].

See you in the audience!
