Can a few hundred people become a simulation of the human brain, with all its synapses and connections? Grab your tickets for the only performances of the play “Spiegelneuronen. Mirror Neurons” – only during the Divine Comedy!

In this extremely interesting performance, the legendary dance group Sasha Waltz & Guests meets Rimini Protokoll, a group specializing in documentary theater. What will come of this collaboration? We invite viewers to take part in an unusual, scientific theater experience about the work of the brain and our relationships. Cheaper tickets are required for the rehearsal of the play - grab them before they run out!

Brain researchers claim that our nervous system is not centrally controlled, but that many different areas of the brain communicate with each other on equal terms. This can be compared to a computer network, in which algorithms react to each other when collecting and processing information. However, even neurologists can only speculate on how exactly this happens. "Spiegelneuronen" takes up this topic. During the performance, the audience listens to and then recreates neurological analysis from the field of brain research in a way that is not only theoretical, but also incredibly tangible – using their own bodies. Losing oneself in a dancing crowd, hormonal, gestural, rhythmic and euphoric unification – this is the utopian dream of dance culture, whether folk or rave. Evoking this state, or at least approaching it, requires the activation of mirror neurons, as well as music, connecting the dancing bodies. Can this be reconstructed and reflected – physically and rationally – with the participation of the audience? The relationship between the individual and the collective becomes the subject of this extremely original performance, successfully exploring the language of theatre of the future. Heated discussions after the presentations are guaranteed.
