A documentary account, of civil rather than theatrical nature, on the migrant crisis on the Polish–Belarusian border. The question why the Polish state was capable of admitting and aiding millions of refugees from Ukraine, while they unscrupulously pushed back several thousands of people from Belarus denying their humanity, hangs over it unanswered. It calls for the answers from the politicians, in the context of the responsibility for the drama. We have heard of hunger, cold, brutality of the services, and helplessness of the aiding, and now the theatre is trying to paste all those into a single story. Its protagonist is Issa Jerjos escaping from the war-engulfed Syria in the search of a safe place and a better future in Europe. Instead of that, he finds himself in the state-of-emergency zone, where Polish services were hunting for ones like him to force them, exhausted and hovering on the border of life and death, back into Belarus. Issa died on the territory of Poland, hiding away from the services. Odpowiedzialność/ Responsibility is a chronicle of the last days of his life. Issa means Jesus, and therefore we are clashed with the passion of Issa/Jesus that happened last winter in Poland, so close to us.
