In October, twenty-five years had passed since the premiere of “The Siblings” at the Stary Theatre in Krakow. Today, Krystian Lupa's performance is a phenomenon – a quarter of a century has passed, and it still is staged with an unchanged cast. Agnieszka Mandat, Małgorzata Hajewska-Krzysztofik and Piotr Skiba imbue their characters with ever new emotions. Their Ritter, Dene and Voss gain bitterness in life over the years, they lose all their illusions. Krystian Lupa, on the other hand, demonstrates that he is the only such director of Thomas Bernhard's oeuvre. He follows him step by step, saturates his work with his own vision of the world and philosophy.
The siblings of the two actresses Ritter and Dene, and the philosopher Voss, who has just left the lunatic asylum, meet over a long family dinner. However, it is too late for reconciliation, there is only a slow descent into the abyss of growing insanity.
